I don't know if the game ever opens up enough to be worth it for me, but the experience isn't good enough to waste any more of my time trying to find out. You will find yourself squinting, grimmacing, and wanting to look away as the migraine-inducing storm of shapes, sounds, and lights overwhelm your senses. It tries too hard to be deeply unsettling in a variety of ways, mostly missing the mark outside of the over-used glitchy, flashy, disorientating effect that they heavily rely on through-out. The walkthrough of the main storyline is complemented with descriptions of side cases as well as the locations of secrets (collectibles). There are very few actual game "play" (or choice) moments to look forward to outside of picking up some meaningless clues and mini-games here and there. The guide includes information on how to complete subsequent sections of investigations, find and examine material evidence, interrogate non-player characters and play through the mind-hacking sequences. The more you play, the more "on rails" it feels. Unfortunately, this game is extremely limited in ways that its fascinating story and creative aesthetic can't make up for. I can see why this game would be appealing to some, and it's almost something I'd look forward to playing.
